It’s been almost two years since I last worked on a narrative short and I’ve learned so much since then. Unveiled at the MAASU conference at Ohio State, The Delivery Boy received encouraging laughter and applause. It was refreshing to work on this and a whole lot of fun. I am very glad to be able to apply the things I’ve learned these last couple years to everything from the production of the short to the commentary of its content. Thus, Turtlist Media is proud to present the first look at what will be a series of shorts under a year long project. Projected to release in 2011.
Ahem* The Delivery Boy
One of my goals before graduating college was to speak at a conference. MAASU gave me an incredibly appreciated invitation to facilitate a workshop at their spring conference at OSU. To my surprise (and nervousness) the room was packed! Thanks everyone who came out for your support (especially those of your who had to stand). Also, thank you MAASU board and OSU for having me!
A few of you asked about the collaboration song between Andrew Lo and Wat Deeudomchan. You can find it here! Feel free to download (for freesies) right off the widget!
Lastly, I met some inspiring talent at the conference. Check out JR Aquino’s duet with Erika David
and New York talent manager Jon de Castro
Till next time,

needs either a boom mic or a delay before the music comes in the beginning, otherwise i’m unsure if the cars are just noise. stylistically i found the beats a little bit too long, and contrast contrast contrast–you could definitely get a better front shot juxtaposition of the bike/car than the one you did. otherwise great–loved the shot of cj and the one from below when he’s vroom vrooming… funny story, cute girl, good execution of concept, great flavor added by music choice, hilarious in that adorable jason lee way.
your attitude these days is impeccable man–i’m really excited to see where you’re gonna go in life. keep it up.
Hello Jason,
I attended the conference at OSU I was looking through searching for the video you made during high school you said if I remembered correctly. I was wondering if it was online by any chance or if it would be possible for you to put online. I just thought it was a great small piece actually and just was wondering if you did, if I would be able to share it with friends since it as I stated was a great piece which brought forth a few good laughs.
Thanks.
Nice short! Wonderful commentary on the subject of (Asian) male masculinity issues using an updated version of the “Chinese” delivery boy stereotype. Keep up the good work Jason! Looking forward to the next chapter.
