In a music building on 8th Avenue, the loud collage of many New York bands bounce through the graffiti walls. If you listen very carefully, one band’s sound may feel strangely familiar. Their sound is catchy, electric, pop-rock and they will surely make it to your Ipod playlist as soon as you hear them.
If you’ve seen the recent Dayquil commercial, you may have been blessed by the “ballad nerd pop” sounds of Paperdoll, a foursome band featuring Asian American lead singer, Teresa Lee.
We thought we just had to share this as we love seeing Asian Americans break into mainstream media, as it surely means the next wave of Asian American three dimensional representation and a more complex face for Asian America.

Now THAT’S what I call an insightful thought on things. What I would suggest though is talking to other people involved in the scene and bring to day any conflicting points of view and then update your site or create a new post for us to read. Hopefully you’ll take my ideas, I’m looking forward to it! Try to cover off on some graffiti characters as well if you can, they’re everywhere at the moment.
