Josh Kim is a Korean American studying Music Technology at Northwestern University and plays a variety of instruments. The music you hear on this feature is all original and I hope you’ll take the time to support him. He’s got an amazing mellow style and a unique sense of melody.

Josh Kim, a student at Northwestern University, grew up having music as a hobby, beginning piano lessons at the age of six.
By seventh grade, he took up guitar, with a variety of other instruments soon to follow.
“Ever since, I couldn’t stop wanting to grow in music,” said Kim.
The beginning of Kim’s journey into music was modest, his philosophies on the medium are constantly maturing.
“So much of music is about passion and to have a passion in the first place is such a blessing,” said Kim. “To me,music is what keeps people sane.”
There is much more to music than entertainment for Kim.
Music brings sights, experiences and emotions to life, said Kim. It is a universal language.
While he is still in school at Northwestern University, Kim has had many moments that have inspired him to make music into a career. Currently, he plays various gigs at local events in the Chicago area.
Like many of the artists featured by Turtlist Media, Kim is not alone in his pursuit of his passions. There are many college students around the country creating incredible music in their dorm rooms and playing local open mics on the weekends.
However, it is the persistent pursuit of one’s passions that keep big dreams within reach.
“Keep at it! No matter what people say, just keep at it,” said Kim. “That’s all there is to it.”
